Burnout, depression, exhaustion......

When the batteries are physically or mentally empty!

Being burned out or burnout syndrome refers to particularly severe professional and/or family exhaustion. Continuous frustration, failure to achieve goals, excessive personal expectations of one's own performance, overload (pressure of deadlines, lack of skills), bullying, etc. can cause lasting exhaustion.

Typical symptoms are:

Fatigue and significantly reduced activity for months. In addition, non-specific complaints occur:

• severe, previously unexperienced exhaustion after exertion
• muscle weakness, muscle, headache and/or joint pain
• gastrointestinal cramps, digestive disorders
• sleep disorders, such as insomnia, great need for sleep

• Neuropsychiatric complaints such as forgetfulness, irritability, poor concentration and depression.

“Anyone who burns out must have burned once.”

Striking features in the initial phase are:

- The job becomes the central meaning of life, hyperactivity

- Avoiding breaks/holidays despite being tired

- Reduction in social contacts, fear of (failure),

- Seeking distraction and comfort (alcohol, food, frequent sex).

Those affected require professional systemic advice.

Initially, extended recovery phases (in the form of a cure), relaxation techniques and/or measures to expand skills (such as time and organizational management) can provide relief.

Once an advanced stage has been reached, there is no way around psychotherapy/psychological support. It is intended to help the patient analyze their own life situation, performance and better assess future requirements.Psychopharmacological concomitant therapy with antidepressants is often unavoidable.

The holistically oriented APM THERAPY, acupuncture massage can help to alleviate the accompanying symptoms on a physical, mental and spiritual level and to find the way back to one's own inner balance through regulation therapy based on Chinese energy theory and the 5 elements.
